Monthly Webinar Series: Telling the Story – Safely Sharing about Suicide Loss

Jan 11, 2023

Event Time: 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Virtual

Stories have the potential to change hearts and minds, mobilize supporters, and turn strangers into allies. That’s certainly the goal when survivors of suicide loss and suicide attempts share their experiences in a public setting. Unfortunately, these stories can create unintentional harm if precautions aren’t taken to protect both the storyteller and their audience.

What does it take to safely share stories around suicide loss and suicide attempts? How does someone know if they’re ready to share their experience? What’s the best way for a host to plan and prepare for this kind of presentation in their community?

Join Suicide Postvention Consultant Denise Meine-Graham for a special two-part webinar series that will answer these questions and help speakers and their hosts use stories of suicide loss to create powerful and positive impacts in their communities.

To ensure all participants have the opportunity to complete this series regardless of availability, a recording of the December webinar is available to prior to the January webinar, and recordings of both webinars will be sent to participants after the conclusion of the series.

American Sign Language interpretation will be available for the live and recorded presentation.

Continuing education will be provided for prevention, addiction counseling, social work, marriage and family counseling, and psychologists.

Registration is free for OSPF members and $50 for non-members. An OSPF Individual Membership is also included with the purchase of this webinar series. Click here to apply for Membership today!
